We're waiting on winter to arrive in our little corner of Northwest Montana. The town is resplendent in its holiday finery and the cold weather begs for fat flakes to coat the landscape. They call Bigfork "A Christmas Village," and when snow descends and the Bigfork Elves decorate the town, it becomes quite a festive place.
While we wait for winter's snow to touch down upon our quiet village, we look back a few years to a white-washed wonderland.
Even during the quiet winter months, there is much to see and enjoy.
The village is a beautiful place for a morning stroll when your feet make tracks through the fresh snow. One can duck into an eatery for a treat or a charming shop for a gift.
One of my favorite buildings is the library and cultural center.
It's always nice when old buildings are utilized instead of torn down. Bigfork brims with restaurants and art galleries housed in and old mercantile, a bank, and an inn.
Our little lakeside village is a peaceful haven during the long winter months.
Wherever this holiday season takes you, we hope you'll find a place filled with Christmas cheer, friendly folk, and inspiring settings.
