A House Filled with Christmas

Christmas in the air, in the home, and all around . . . we love how Christmas ignites all our senses. One of the best things about Christmas is it can be whatever we want. There are so many styles, plenty to suit every taste. Ours leans toward natural elements and rich colors with plenty of tradition.

We went mad for plaid this year when we came across this gorgeous ribbon, on major sale, and bought every spool off the shelf. It adorned the trees and wreaths, and the colors carried over into every vignette and almost every tablescape.

"Oh the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful, And since we've no place to go, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow."

We're big into nests and birds this year, and we often decorate with twigs and branches. The plaid ball ornaments with bear and moose on top were bought years ago, and we've not been able to find them again. If you do, please let us know!

Trees, trees, everywhere with trees.

Santa and his friends take their place among the branches, greenery, and color.

The entry is made over with the arrival of a new holiday. Red and green galore with plenty of pine cones to accent. And what is Christmas without books! Since books are scattered throughout the house, we use them in the vignettes. Cinnamon sticks and real pine greens make the whole house smell like Christmas all season long.

“Christmas is a piece of one’s home that one carries in one’s heart.” ~Freya Stark
